Carpentry Services

External;

Porch
On an existing slab Smithson Carpentry Services constructed the walls, roof and tiles to achieve the attractive finished porch, as illustrated, while also adhering to the eco friendly specifications of the build.

Barn conversion
With our specialist detailed knowledge Smithson Carpentry Services were able to resurrect a derelict roof on an original listed barn saving it from demolition and restoring it to its former glory. If you have a special project please speak to Smithson Carpentry Services for advice and guidance regarding taking your project further.

Doors, windows and glazing
Smithson Carpentry Services fit, and if required, supply both internal and external doors and windows. A glazing service is also available.

Loft conversion
Smithson Carpentry Services
converted a bungalow loft into 2 bedrooms, a wet room, new stairs, a landing, 3 dormers and 3 velux windows. The majority of this project was carpentry. Smithson Carpentry Services sub-contracted an electrician and a plumber for the new heating system and a plasterer. The result is excellent even if we say so ourselves. The size of the bedrooms was particularly impressive to the customer.

The customer had obtained planning permission for this project some years before although was worried about the mess and inconvenience. Smithson Carpentry Services ensured that the majority of the work happened behind a closed door until nearing the end of the project when the stairs were put in therefore keeping all construction away from the rest of the house and minimising inconvenience to the family.

Many people worry about not having a high enough pitch on their roof for a loft conversion. Even if this is the case, which often it is not, Smithson Carpentry Services can give you advice. Where a new roof is needed, Smithson Carpentry Services
are experts. It really is not the major inconvenience you may first think. Please ask Smithson Carpentry Services for advice and reassurance on this.
If you like your location, but want more room, why move? A loft conversion could be the easy and cost effective answer to your space needs.

Smithson Carpentry Services are specialists in roof construction.
Smithson Carpentry Services holds the necessary qualifications for directing cranes which maybe necessary to guide joists onto larger/higher roofs.
Smithson Carpentry Services also hold all necessary Health and Safety qualifications.

Facias
If you want to smarten up your house, or make maintenance easier in the future, an easy way is to have your facias replaced with either wood or UPVC. Please contact
Smithson Carpentry Services for advice and a quote.

Internal;

Wardrobes
Smithson Carpentry Services can either fit pre-bought wardrobes, or build wardrobes including the internals to fit the space available.

Flooring
From laminate flooring to real wood flooring. Real wood flooring is acclimatized before being laid then stained for a quality finish. A similar project has recently been completed and following an excellent job the customer has requested that Smithson Carpentry Services fit this flooring through the whole house.

Skirting and architrave
Thinking of redecorating or up-dating a room? A very effective way is to replace the skirting and architrave to give a new, clean look.

Handrails
A new handrail can make such a difference to your house by making your staircase a real feature.
